Segun is one of the people who instilled in me the love for African culture. It’s been 11 years since he took me for the first time to a Nigerian wedding. He explained everything I needed to know about their weddings and took me around the most interesting places in Nigeria. From him I understood better that the way Africa is portrayed in the Western media is very distorted.
It was also from him that I understood that music, dancing and smiles are all you need to be happy, and returning after the first trip to Lagos found me a different person.
We met again in Kenya, at his wedding with Tola, together with other dear friends, where we threw a party in their honor!
