Graziano Fiorita, physiotherapist at Lecce for 25 years, passed away on Friday (25/04/2025) after suffering a heart attack during training ahead of the team’s match against Atalanta in the 34th round of Serie A.
The match was rescheduled for last night (27/04/2025), but Lecce reportedly did not want to show up, taking into account the mood of all the staff.
In protest against the Italian Football League, the visitors’ stand was empty last night, but marked with mourning (a black veil was installed over the chairs). Atalanta fans supported the protest against the great leaders of Italian football with a 15-minute silence at the start of the match and with banners with strong messages: “Death is equal for everyone!” or “Lega Serie A is a SHAME!” Both teams would have liked the match to be rescheduled as late as possible.
Atalanta and Lecce drew 1-1, both goals in the match being scored from penalties.
